This pressed seaweed print is one of our best-selling designs and beautifully captures the quiet drama and intricate detail of Britain’s coastline. Fern Weed No. 2 is created from real British seaweed that we hand-collected along the coast, carefully pressed in our studio, and transformed into a fine art print.

The original specimen — Bonnemaisonia asparagoides, commonly known as Fern Weed — was chosen for its exceptional shape and lace-like branching structure.

Once collected, the seaweed is meticulously arranged and pressed using traditional botanical techniques, a slow and deliberate process that allows every fine detail to be preserved. Much like pressing flowers.

The pressed specimen is then scanned at ultra-high resolution and gently refined to ensure the final print stays true to the original form, colour, and texture.

What makes this seaweed print so special is the level of detail. The intricate, translucent branches and soft red tones often surprise customers, revealing just how beautiful pressed seaweed can be when seen up close.
