Shore Break I - Abstract Coastal Beach Painting

Painted in our studio, Shore Break I is a contemporary coastal painting inspired by the simple rhythm of waves meeting the shore.

Using a palette of deep navy, soft sand tones and crisp white surf, the artwork captures the contrast between sea and beach in a beautifully pared-back way. The composition is intentionally minimal, with broad areas of colour balanced by expressive brushwork that suggests the movement of water as it breaks gently onto the shoreline.

Compared to its companion piece, Shore Break II, this artwork feels lighter and more open. The shoreline plays a larger role in the composition, while the brighter white surf creates a stronger sense of movement and energy. Subtle turquoise tones along the water’s edge bring freshness and depth, echoing the colours found along Britain’s coastline on a clear summer day.

The result is a modern coastal artwork that feels both calm and uplifting. Designed to complement contemporary interiors, Shore Break I works beautifully in coastal homes, relaxed living spaces and interiors inspired by natural materials and muted colour palettes.
